Rep. Spain Awarded for Advocacy on Nursing Home Issues

State Representative Ryan Spain was honored on National Senior Citizen Day with LeadingAge Illinois’s Partners in Quality Award recognizing his advocacy to improve the long-term care industry.

Spain was presented the award during a Senior Health & Information Fair that Rep. Spain hosted with Senator Chuck Weaver on August 21 at Snyder Village in Metamora.  The Partners in Quality Award recognizes Representative Spain’s personal commitment and dedication to the advancement of quality in older adult services in Illinois.

Prior to the presentation, Snyder Village’s Executive Director Keith Swartzentruber spoke about the facilities relationship with Rep. Spain and his legislative office, describing a continual working relationship on Medicaid Long-Term Care cases on behalf of resident constituents.  Swartzentruber went on to laud Rep. Spain’s advocacy for a higher Medicaid reimbursement rate for long-term care facilities as well.

LeadingAge Illinois’ Kirk Riva and Snyder Village’s Keith Swartzentruber presented Rep. Spain with the Partners in Quality Award prior to a tour of Snyder Village’s newly completed bistros at the growing Metamora non-profit provider.
