State Rep. Ryan Spain Re-Appointed as Deputy Republican Leader

House Republican Leader Tony McCombie released her list of House Republican Leadership team members, once again naming State Representative Ryan Spain as one of her Deputy Leaders. Spain is honored to continue to serve in this capacity, helping shape the strategic policy decisions that will lay the groundwork for Illinois families and businesses to thrive.

“Serving as a Deputy Leader is an honor and I value the trust Leader McCombie has in me to work beside her to advocate for our state’s future,” said Spain.

In addition to serving the 73rd District and being on the House Republican Leadership team, Spain was named co-chairman to the prestigious Joint Committee on Administrative Rules (JCAR), which was announced today. JCAR is a bipartisan, bicameral legislative oversight committee where Spain will work alongside 11 other legislators to help oversee the rule-making process by state agencies, making sure the rules abide by the original intent of legislators when laws are passed, adequately inform the General Assembly of how laws are implemented through agency rulemaking, and help facilitate a public understanding of rules and regulations.

“JCAR holds a critically important role in making sure the rules abide by the original legislative intent when the laws are passed,” said Rep. Spain. “I am looking forward to continuing the essential work of this committee, to ensure our government’s checks and balances remain intact.”

House Republican Leader Tony McCombie says Deputy Leader Spain has earned his re-appointment to her leadership team, and his voice will be a key asset for the 104th General Assembly.

“Ryan Spain is a diligent leader and I am confident he will continue to be a strong advocate for our caucus and residents across our state,” McCombie said. “Our state faces many challenges in this new term and Ryan’s fearless pursuit of beneficial public policies will make all the difference for the great state of Illinois.”

Representative Ryan Spain serves as State Representative of the 73rd District, which includes portions of Bureau, Henry, Lee, Marshall, Peoria, Rock Island, Stark, Whiteside, and Woodford counties.
