Spain Backed Bill to Combat Human Trafficking Now Law

A bipartisan bill aimed at streamlining Illinois’ response to human trafficking was signed into law on Wednesday.

“I was proud to be one of the lead sponsors on this bipartisan legislation streamlining our response to human trafficking,” said Deputy House Minority Leader Ryan Spain.

The law lays the framework for a coordinated trauma-informed response across state agencies to better address the varied needs of victims of human trafficking, which includes crimes of sex and labor trafficking.
