Recognizing National VFW Day

On this day in 1899, a group of 13 Spanish-American war veterans joined together to form what would become the nation’s largest and most dedicated group of veterans, the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). Today we celebrate the work of the VFW and the organization’s mission, “To foster camaraderie among United States veterans of overseas conflicts. To serve our veterans, the military and our communities. To advocate on behalf of all veterans.”

Happy VFW Day to our local chapters and all our veterans. Thank you for your steadfast devotion.
